Same As It Ever Was…

Some say “we have never had a President like this…” or “No President has come from this background…”. Usually people on the right are referring to President Obama’s seemingly magical ability to make all people think that he is agreeing with them, or his background as community organizer.

This is not the first time we’ve had a president like this, and it probably won’t be the last.

However, John Flynn’s book “Country Squire in the White House” documents how FDR was connected to the Tammany political machine of New York (community organizers of their day) and how he would agree with anyone and everyone — but go in a totally separate direction.
Flynn wrote this in 1940. He was a left-leaning journalist who grew discouraged with the lack of consistency and purpose in the White House and showed how the vast and sweeping policies were ineffective both in overreach and in execution.

This is our future, same as the past. We have in fact forgotten our history and so we are repeating it.
