Cap and Trade is a Trojan Horse

Cap and trade of carbon will cost people thousands of dollars while permitting government to infiltrate all sorts of private business. There’s even a theory that monitoring of carbon output could lead to the regulation of personal activities.

Don’t forget that the advertised reason for reducing carbon dioxide is man-made climate change. But those have not been tied together at all.

An excellent introduction to the science behind climate and the debate behind global warming theories is “Climate Confusion.” Spencer offers a breezy introduction to climate and his personal background as a climate scientist. He also ties in the policy goals and assumptions that have been proposed with their economic consequences.

The poison inside the Trojan Horse is that this will increase the size and oversight of government. Although well-intentioned progressives believe that saving the environment is important, a non-existent benefit to the commons is outweighed by the reduction in liberty.
